Are you talking about the thread titled "DALI Lighting Control - What is it and why do you want it?"

If you are, then I'm curious how you can say it's "a misinformed scan and a delete" when you posted this (emphasis added):

"Ryan, your welcome.

Someone at this site moved this to products. DALI is a protocol so certainly the article did not belong here as a product. Therefore, I removed the content rather than permit the gross misrepresentation."

So, if someone on our end did delete the post, then I'll look into it and see what happened. But, if what happened is that you did, indeed, delete the post yourself, I'd like to politely ask you to not accuse the moderators of actions that they didn't take.

What are the points I have been accumulated? I haven't seen anywhere they are explained. How do you earn them and what do you do with them after you have them?

Hi Bud

We don't have a designated area on myFacilitiesNet for jobs/resumes, but there are a couple options to post your resume.

For a small fee you can post your resume on the FacilitiesNet Career section. By posting on the Career section, your resume will be available on FacilitiesNet for at least 90 days and will display once on the weekly Facilities Insider and Maintenance Insider emails, which are sent to over 130,000 facility professionals across the country.
You can also add your resume to your profile in your bio, as a file attachment or as an announcement. And can also post your resume as a blog post (example) or add a note about what you do in the Welcome New Members forum post.

I don't mind an occasional recommendation from a colleague....that can be helpful and point to information or knowledge I didn't previously possess. However, it's the overt "I can save your company thousands if you buy my product" ads that I find annoying. If it's posted on the internet, then it must be true....right?

Bernie - I will second your comments. I have a close friend that is looking to be an agent for them and it is good to know that they are not only committed to providing insurance but to running their buildings properly

As for the inappropriate behavior - I am glad to see the administrators are addressing this situation quickly. Please remember that the unprofessional behavior of a few people does not represent the group as a whole. While some people have used this system to unneedlessly spam their product, most people believe that this is a good option to exchange ideas and solutions to help everyone improve operations.

I hope you decide to stay and continue to be active.

Login. Click "My Profile" on the top bar. and then click the link that states "Change my profile picture". Should be good from there.

You’ll see on your My Profile page a listing for favorite blog, favorite multimedia, etc. If there is a blog, for instance, that you want to make your favorite, simply go to that blog post and on the right of the post is a button that says “Add to favorites.” Click this and it will be saved to your My Profile favorites. You can also remove favorites in this same way.

The Multimedia section can be found in the top navigation bar of myFacilitiesnet. Its contents can be viewed and commented on by anyone signed into myFacilitiesnet. Any user can upload various media to this site simply by clicking “Upload” on the Multimedia page. Be concise with your “Name” because this is what viewers will see on the Multimedia page. The “Description” is an in depth explanation of what the media is and will appear below the visual when viewed by others. Don’t forget to save your work! Once live, all myFacilitiesnet users can view and comment on your media.

My Profile: This is a private page that only you can see. It’s contents are not visible to anyone else on myFacilitiesnet. On this page, you can view private conversations with your colleagues, see a full list of all your colleagues and groups, view your colleagues’ recent activities, comments that have been made to your page, your blogs, multimedia and forum posts.

Public Profile: The public profile page is the page that others on myFacilitiesnet will see about you. It only displays your bio, any announcements you update to this page, public comments that have been made, some of your most recent activities and favorite parts of myFacilitiesnet. You can get to your Public Profile through your My Profile page by clicking “View Public Profile” found under your photo.

Blog names are preset to be the same as your user name. To change the name of your blog, follow the steps below:

Click “Manage Your Content” in the top navigation bar.
In the box titled “Manage Your Blog” click on “Manage ‘your blog name’.” This brings you to a page that tracks your entire blog.
On the left side, choose “Blog Setup.”
In the “Title and Description” tab, your first option is “Your Blogs Title,” which is where you can update your new title. Once on this page, you can also add a description for your blog.
Once changes have been made, hit “Save” on the bottom right.

You can also set your blog up so you receive email alerts whenever someone comments to your blog. To do so from the name change page, click the tab titled “Email.” The first option is for email confirmations. If you want to receive an email every time someone comments to your blog, change this in the drop-down box to “All Comments.” Then confirm that your email address is correct in the field below. Don’t forget to hit “Save” at the bottom of the page.

Conversations: You can only have a conversation with someone who is already declared a colleague. These are private conversations, of which the contents can only be viewed by you and the colleague you are speaking with. For instructions on how to start a conversation, view the forum post “How do I have a private conversation?”.

Comments: You can leave a comment for both colleagues and non-colleagues by visiting that persons profile page and clicking “Add a Comment” under their profile photo. Comments are not private and can be seen by anyone on myFacilitiesnet. These appear in the My Comments section on that persons profile page.

On myFacilitiesnet, members have options to have open conversations with their group or with everyone on the site. You can also have private conversations that are only seen between you and your colleague. There are two ways to have a private conversation. First, go to the profile page of the person you wish to speak with. Below their picture, click “Start a Conversation” or “Send an Email.” Sending an email is just that. Email conversations will not show up on myFacilitiesnet. If you choose “Start a Conversation,” those comments will appear on your colleague’s profile page that only they can see. Replies can be sent to those conversations simply by clicking on the conversation subject and replying in the space below.

When joining myFacilitiesnet, you are automatically colleagues with Dan Hounsell, editor of Maintenance Solutions magazine and Ed Sullivan, editor of Building Operating Management. You can also request to be colleagues with anyone else already on myFacilitiesnet. To request a colleague, go to “Find Members” in the top navigation bar. Click on the persons picture and/or name to go to their profile. Once on their profile, click on “Add to Colleagues,” which can be found directly under their picture. That person will have to approve you as a colleague. Once approved as colleagues, you are able to have private conversations with that person. You will also be informed as to that person’s activities.

Click on the "Blogs" tab, then click "Write a New Post" in the sub navigation.
