I want to convert my T8 electronic ballasted 4 bulb fixtures to high efficiency T8s or T5s. I understand if I change the ballast to a low BF ballast for high efficiency T8s and then put in high efficiency T8 bulbs, I will be fine. But I also there is no way to convert a T8 fixture to be a T5 fixture. Is this correct?

Nick,
They do make an adaptor for converting T8 fixtures into T5. This adaptor compensates for the shorter length and bi-pin configuration of T5 lamp. The most dependable adaptors are only available to manufacturers. There are several companies overseas who make similar products but not with a UL listing. How many are these are you looking for? I you like i can try to get prices from our fixture manufacture who can purchase these as an OEM. Another solution would be to de-lamp these fixtures to (2) lamp T8 and then install a 95% reflector to compensate for the light loss, its a very effective solution. I can also help with this solution as well.
Good Luck Nick,

I work a company called Lumiversal. We are making T12/T8 adapters to T5's. Michael is correct; at this point there are no UL Listed adapters on the market. That said we expect to get our UL Listing within the next month.
Let me know if you have any questions.
