We also need to understand how people will react when it comes to evacuation. If you are over 50 storeys high when a disaster struck do you have the capacity to travel down so many in the shortest possible time? To make the next generation of high rise building economically viable and yet allow all its occupants to evacuate safely engineers need to speak to those who work in such buildings and determine how they perceive their risks and how they process information given to them.
