I really enjoyed the article. It comes down to occupational complacency. As managers, we need to be a role model. Simply, our actions’ speak louder than our words and if we want to raise the bar of excellence for other staff members to follow, we must be the living example. I like your suggestion on diversifying our skill set by taking on new challenges outside our expertise. Upon volunteering for these growth opportunities, we make ourselves indispensable to our organization/company which leads to a heightened job satisfaction as well as a continuum of secured employment.
